Automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) refers to the methods of automatically identifying objects, collecting data about them, and entering that data directly into computer systems (i.e. without human involvement). Technologies typically considered as part of AIDC include bar codes, Radio Frequency Identification and voice recognition. AIDC is also commonly referred to as “Automatic Identification,” “Auto-ID,” and “Automatic Data Capture.” Using AIDC is an advantage over manual entry into a computer because it is much quicker and easier for a computer to understand. Overall this is better for companies as they do not need to pay wages for the computers running the entries.
Validation is a way of trying to reduce the number of errors in the data being entered into your system. however it can solve human error, for example if you typed smithe instead of smith it would not be able to solve this.
Verification can be used to help make sure that the data in your database contains as few mistakes as possible. can be used to check data twice, for example when you type a new password the computer always ask for the new password to be typed twice. this is to make sure your password is typed correctly. also it helps check the data on the screen against the original paper document.
Touchdevelop is a an microsoft application that allows you to program for windows 8 such as backgrounds and games. the application is very good to use as the layout looks good and it is easy to navigate around and to program yourself, however it could do with better instructions to make it easier to use for first timers. i found it good to program on and would use it again
