form design- questionnaires and surveys are a form of form design. the main advantages of them are that they are quick to do and are very cheap, however the response can be very sort which means you do not get the best feedback.
keyboard entry- keyboard entry is very easy to do. it allows you to put any information on to a system.
voice recognition-voice recognition is very cheap to use as you do not have to pay for real people. the problems are that the voice recognition can struggle to always understand what is being said
barcodes- barcodes are good as they are very quick and saves you from manually typing in the items code. the only trouble is they are temperamental as they can be hard to read if the barcode have scratches on them.
optical mark recognition- they save money as work can be read by a computer and not a person and they are much quicker, however they need work to be marked in a specific way so that they can read it and if it is not marked specifically it cannot read it.
optical character recognition- this is the scanning of images and words. the advantages with it is that it allows handwritten work to be sent and have copies made off them. the disadvantages are that it can be time consuming to wait for the images to be uploaded

touch screens- easy and quick to use but can become annoying if you touch the wrong part of the screen.
image capture- it is quick and easy to do. it is very reliable. however images can change in sort periods of time.
chip and pin- advantages are that they are easy to use, however card can be easily taken and forged meaning people can access your accounts
sensors and remote data logging- easy and quick to use as all you need to do is scan or log onto it.
